Otis Ray Redding Jr. (September 9, 1941 – December 10, 1967) was an American singer and songwriter. He is regarded as one of the greatest singer-songwriters in the history of American popular music and a seminal artist in soul music and rhythm and blues.

I believe verification and/or explanation is required for Otis Redding’s cover of “Ain’t No Sunshine”. The song was first released in 1971, three years after the death of Otis Redding. Now as I understand it, Bill Withers, having wrote the song, began playing the song in jook joints at night, while still working in a factory during the day.
