Loop 287 is located that encircles Lufkin. Loop 287 was designated on June 30, 1955, from SH 103 northwest of Lufkin south and east around the city's west and south sides to US 69 southeast of Lufkin. On March 1, 1966, a section from SH 103 to US 69 and another section from US 69 to US 59 were added, completing the loop around Lufkin.

State Highway 94 (SH 94) is a state highway in the U.S. state of Texas that runs 50 miles (80 km) between Trinity and Lufkin. This route was designated on April 21, 1924, from Trinity to Groveton. [2] On May 4, 1925, it was extended to Lufkin. [3] On September 26, 1954, SH 94 was extended from old US 59 to new US 59 in Lufkin.
