Dino (/ ˈ d iː n oʊ /) is a fictional character featured in the Hanna-Barbera animated television series The Flintstones, and its spin-offs and feature films. He is a pet dinosaur of the series' main characters, Fred and Wilma Flintstone . [ 10 ]
In 2003, Gazoo had become the mascot for Marshmallow Mania Pebbles cereal. Gazoo is also a character in Flintstones vitamins, and a central character in the 1991 video game The Flintstones: The Rescue of Dino & Hoppy. Ozmodiar, a Gazoo parody with a nearly identical design, appeared as a brief cameo gag in several episodes of The Simpsons. [7]
The series also featured new characters (the Frankenstones, the Cavemouse) as well as older characters (Penny, Wiggy, Moonrock and Schleprock of 1971's The Pebbles and Bamm-Bamm Show and 1972's The Flintstone Comedy Hour on CBS, Al Capp's the Shmoo from his show The New Shmoo which aired on NBC in 1979, and Captain Caveman from his own series on ABC in 1977 which lasted three seasons).
The show follows the lives of Fred and Wilma Flintstone and their pet dinosaur, Dino, and they later on have a baby girl named Pebbles. Barney and Betty Rubble are their neighbors and best friends, and later on adopt a super-strong baby boy named Bamm-Bamm and acquire a pet hopparoo (kangaroo) called Hoppy.
The series follows the adventures of Pebbles Flintstone and Bamm-Bamm Rubble as prehistoric pre-schoolers with Dino, the Flintstone family's pet dinosaur, as their babysitter. The show tells the story of the search for Dino, The Flintstones's pet dinosaur; in between segments, highlights include a huge volcano spewing red-hot disco dancers, life-size dancing billiard balls and dominoes, a 32-foot-long dancing skeleton, a phantom ghost ship and a spectacular three-ring circus.
