Zera Yacob Amha Selassie (/ ˈ z ɪər ə j æ ˈ k oʊ b /; Geʽez: ዘርዐ ያዕቆብ አምሃ ሥላሴ; born 17 August 1953) is the grandson of Emperor Haile Selassie and son of Amha Selassie of the Ethiopian Empire. He has been head of the Imperial House of Ethiopia since 17 February 1997 as recognized by the Crown Council of Ethiopia.
Amha Selassie died at the age of 82 on 17 January 1997, after long illnesses, in the US state of Virginia. [9] He had never completely recovered from the stroke he had experienced in 1972. [1] [9] At the time his son, Zera-Jakob Selassie was living on the Isle of Dogs, London.

She was born in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, and was the daughter of Princess Tenagnework Haile Selassie and Ras Desta Damtew, and granddaughter of Emperor Haile Selassie of Ethiopia and Empress Menen Asfaw. Princess Seble's paternal grandfather, Fitawrari Damtew Ketema, was martyred during the Ethiopian victory against the Italians at Adwa.

The Imperial coat of arms was adopted by Haile Selassie I, and is currently held by his direct heir in the male line, Prince Zera Yacob, and by the Crown Council of Ethiopia. The arms are composed of an Imperial Throne flanked by two angels, one holding a sword and a pair of scales, the other holding the Imperial sceptre.

Princess Ijigayehu was Amha Selassie's daughter from his first marriage to Princess Wollete Israel Seyoum of Tigrai. By his second marriage to Princess (Empress) Medferiashwork Abebe, he had four more children who are all still living. They are Princess Mariam Senna, Princess Sehin, Princess Sefrash Bizu, and Crown Prince Zera Yacob.
