Shin-Ōsaka Station (新大阪駅, Shin-Ōsaka-eki) is a major interchange railway station in Yodogawa-ku, Osaka, Japan.It is the western terminus of the high-speed Tōkaidō Shinkansen line from Tokyo, the eastern terminus of the San'yō Shinkansen and one of the main railway terminals in the north of Osaka.
Ōsaka Station (大阪駅, Ōsaka-eki) is a major railway station in the Umeda district of Kita-ku, Osaka, Japan, operated by West Japan Railway Company (JR West). It forms as one of the city's main railway terminals to the north, the other being Shin-Ōsaka.
Previously, train services went directly between the Loop Line and Shin-Osaka via the Umeda Freight Line, resulting in no trains going to Osaka Station. This changed on 13 February 2023 when trains started to route through new underground platforms at Osaka Station. [1] The new platforms were opened on 18 March 2023.
