The American Banjo Museum holds one of the banjos Gibson made, the Gibson "Earl Scruggs Standard" (1984), which is modeled after his Granada "as it existed in the early 1980s". [23] The museum has two other Scruggs-inspired banjos; [ 23 ] a "Vega Earl Scruggs Model" (1964) [ 23 ] and his original Vega, which it acquired in 2018.
Henry Ossawa Tanner (June 21, 1859 – May 25, 1937) was an American artist who spent much of his career in France. He became the first African-American painter to gain international acclaim. [1]

The Thankful Poor is an 1894 genre painting by the African-American painter Henry Ossawa Tanner.It depicts two African Americans praying at a table, and shares common themes with Tanner's other paintings from the 1890s including The Banjo Lesson (1893) and The Young Sabot Maker (1895).
The Banjo Player was painted by Hale Woodruff in Paris in 1929. The original is now at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts. The image has been called important, because it "reframes Black representation" shifting the viewer from the established Jim Crow image to an image put forth by an African American. [17]
