Location of Argentina. Argentina is a federal republic in the southern half of South America. Sharing the bulk of the Southern Cone with its neighbor Chile to the west, the country is also bordered by Bolivia and Paraguay to the north, Brazil to the northeast, Uruguay and the South Atlantic Ocean to the east, and the Drake Passage to the south.

In 2001, it bought out The Home Depot's branches in Argentina and Chile and rebranded them as Easy. [ 4 ] [ 5 ] The company currently has 82 branches [ 6 ] in South America, 29 in Chile, 49 in Argentina (plus 10 Blaisten construction supply stores), and 4 in Colombia.
The company also operates two major meat packing plants, [4] and some of its products are exported to other countries. [ 5 ] [ 6 ] Today, La Anonima has 162 branches in 83 cities across Argentina and its workforce consists of 11,500 employees, [ 1 ] making it, as of 2015, the fifth-biggest supermarket chain in the country by sales.

In 1997, Disco bought the supermarket chain Vea for 210 million USD, getting complete ownership of the company. This purchase turned Disco into the second biggest food retailer in the country at the time, behind Carrefour. [6] At that time, most of Disco's shares belonged to the Uruguayan Velox Holdings group.

Molinos also produces a wide range of packaged foods for domestic consumption, including bottled oil, margarine , pasta , pre-mixes, packaged flours, yerba mate , rice , cold cuts, and frozen foods.
