Pier 66 is the official designation for the Port of Seattle's Bell Street Pier and Bell Harbor complex, which replaced historic Piers 64, 65, and 66 in the mid-1990s. The Bellingham Cruise Terminal is a ferry terminal and transportation hub located near the Fairhaven neighborhood in Bellingham, Washington, United States. It was completed in 1989 [1] and provides easy interchange between various modes of transportation. Operated by the Port of Bellingham [2] the facility serves over 200,000 passengers a year. [1]
Elliott Bay is home to the Port of Seattle, which, in 2002, was the 9th busiest port in the United States by TEUs of container traffic and the 46th busiest in the world. [14] [15] Cruise ship business, serving Alaskan cruises, became increasingly important in the 2000s. [16]
The new Port of Seattle (formed 1911) built Fishermen's Terminal about 2 kilometres (1.2 mi) north on Salmon Bay and paid the Great Northern US$150,000 for the docks and approximately 20 acres (8.1 ha) of land at Smith's Cove. At Smith's Cove they developed two new coal and lumber piers, Pier 40 and 41 (renumbered in 1941 as Piers 90 and 91).

The cruise ship terminal is considered an in transit port as presently no ships are home ported (embarked or disembarked) at this facility.
