St. Joseph's Church is a Roman Catholic Church in Belmont Rd. in Hay-on-Wye which is in Powys, Wales. St. Joseph's was founded by the Josephites, who established community services for the Wilmington African-American community dating from the late-1880s. It later changed hands, ending up with the Franciscans , who relinquished administration in Fall 2020 to the Diocese of Wilmington .
In the late 1940s another Saint Joseph's Church was established about three miles away in Dubuque. This led to confusion on the part of people between the two parishes; at times one parish would receive mail meant for the other. As a result, St. Joseph's in Dubuque eventually changed its name to Saint Joseph the Worker Catholic Church in the 1990s.
