The Wade College logo has evolved from the first Miss Wade's Fashion Merchandising College one designed by a student in the early 1960s, the second was also designed by a student in 2002/2003; and the third was designed in 2009 by Jason Graham former Graphic Design Chairman at Wade College who is currently LA-based graphic designer.
LIM College was founded in 1939 by retail and education expert Maxwell F. Marcuse as the Laboratory Institute of Merchandising, at the request of retailers who wanted a school that would teach women about the fashion business and merchandising. LIM became co-ed in 1971 and Maxwell's son, Adrian G. Marcuse, became president in 1972.
The Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising Museum, located at the Los Angeles Campus, is home to a large collection of fashion and costume pieces from the 1800s to today. The museum features permanent and temporary exhibits, including costumes and designs from early 20th-century Hollywood, theater, and current television shows and films.
Also in 2019, Business of Fashion ranked the Marist Fashion Program among the top global Fashion Schools for both undergraduate fashion design and fashion business and management and the 22nd overall globally. Stevens – The Institute of Business & Arts got its start in 1947 as the St. Louis affiliate of Patricia Stevens, a modeling and “finishing” school for young women. Patricia Stevens herself was a working fashion model, and there were many schools bearing her name around the country, but the one in St. Louis was operated by the Klute family.
