[1] At a young age Inhelder was moved around in different private and public schools; her father spent time teaching her history, philosophy, nature, and geography.
His wife, Rana Rochat, is an artist. Rochat received his PhD from the University of Geneva in 1983, where he was mentored by Swiss psychologist Jean Piaget and his collaborators.
