Kajang Prison (Malay: Penjara Kajang; formerly known as Selangor Central Prison) is a prison located in Sungai Jelok, Selangor, Malaysia. [1]During the COVID-19 pandemic in Malaysia in early 2022, 18 inmates were suspected of having adverse effects after taking the COVID-19 vaccine, two of whom died as a result.
It was named the Flying Squad and later renamed the Jungle Squad, with its main mission to fight against the Communists. The first Jungle Squad unit was established at Sik, Kedah in 1949. Training centres were opened in Sungai Buluh, Selangor and in Dusun Tua, Hulu Langat, Selangor which was known as Field Force Special Training Centre (SLPPH).
On 8 March 2001, an Indian security guard on the way home from work found a tent erected in the middle of the narrow road in Kampung Medan for a wedding. Angry, he began kicking the tables and chairs out of the road. His action angered the Malay family that was preparing for the wedding, and they rushed out to beat him up.
