Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust is an NHS trust which runs three hospitals and one ward in Worcestershire, England: The Worcestershire Royal Hospital in Worcester, the Alexandra Hospital in Redditch, Kidderminster Hospital and Treatment Centre in Kidderminster, and Burlingham Ward at Evesham Community Hospital in Evesham.
A new hospital was procured under a Private Finance Initiative contract to replace the Worcester Royal Infirmary in 1999, with the new site located on the eastern side of the city. [1] The new hospital was designed by Anshen Dyer, [4] built by Bovis Lend Lease [5] at a cost of £85 million [6] and opened in March 2002. [7]

The trust comprises Warrington Hospital, Halton General Hospital in Runcorn and Houghton Hall in Warrington and is responsible for a budget of around £200 million per annum. 4,100 staff work across the hospitals and provide access to care for a population of over 500,000 people.
In May 2020, a new ward dedicated to treating COVID-19 patients was opened in the hospital. The Bryn Ward has 50 beds with 27 of those being used for intensive care . [ 5 ] The modular unit was built in the Infirmary's car park.

Until the 1970s, it was known as Scunthorpe and District War Memorial Hospital. A & E is at the far north of the site on Cliff Gardens, accessed via Highfield Avenue, off Doncaster Road (the A1029). As well as North Lincolnshire, it also serves Gainsborough and Goole. It is managed by Northern Lincolnshire and Goole Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
