As with all Sears products, Craftsman tools were not manufactured by Sears during the company's ownership, but made under contract by various other companies.
The company began as Moore Drop Forging Company in Springfield, Massachusetts in 1900 [1] or 1901. [2] In 1938 Moore became a vendor for Sears Roebuck.
