The intergluteal cleft or just gluteal cleft, also known by a number of synonyms, including natal cleft and cluneal cleft, is the groove between the buttocks that runs from just below the sacrum to the perineum, [1] so named because it forms the visible border between the external rounded protrusions of the gluteus maximus muscles.
The region named the right hypochondrium exists anatomically, but is almost totally under the chest wall. In clinical situations, the parts of the abdominal wall just below the right and left costal margins are referred to as the right and left hypochondriac regions respectively.
Right-side chest pain may be a sign of something less worrisome, like muscle pain. Or it may indicate a more serious health problem related to the heart or lungs.
The buttocks are the gluteus or gluteal region and the pubic area is the pubis. Anatomists divide the lower limb into the thigh (the part of the limb between the hip and the knee) and the leg (which refers only to the area of the limb between the knee and the ankle). The thigh is the femur and the femoral region.
The human abdomen is divided into quadrants and regions by anatomists and physicians for the purposes of study, diagnosis, and treatment. [1] [2] The division into four quadrants allows the localisation of pain and tenderness, scars, lumps, and other items of interest, narrowing in on which organs and tissues may be involved.
the gluteal region encompassing the buttocks, the femoral region encompassing the thigh, the popliteal region encompassing the back of the knee, the sural region encompassing the back of the lower leg, the calcaneal region encompassing the heel, the plantar region encompassing the sole of the foot. Some regions are combined into larger regions.
Superior gluteal nerve palsy causes injury to the superior gluteal nerve, which results in motor loss that manifests as a disabling gluteus medius limp. [5] The most common cause is an iatrogenic injury during hip surgery or an intramuscular injection. Lesions of the inferior gluteal nerve occur through iatrogenic injuries like surgery, trauma ...
The bony skeletal part of the thoracic wall is the rib cage, and the rest is made up of muscle, skin, and fasciae.. The chest wall has 10 layers, namely (from superficial to deep) skin (epidermis and dermis), superficial fascia, deep fascia and the invested extrinsic muscles (from the upper limbs), intrinsic muscles associated with the ribs (three layers of intercostal muscles), endothoracic ...
