Bumblebee is a fictional robot character appearing in the many continuities in the Transformers franchise. The character is a member of the Autobots, a group of sentient, self-configuring, modular extraterrestrial robotic lifeforms . In the original line of toys and in the animated series, Bumblebee is a small yellow Volkswagen Beetle.

In the Transformers lore, these vehicles are meant to be individual Decepticons called the Constructicons. In the film however, only Mixmaster, Scrapper, Scrapmetal, and Long Haul transform into robots, and they appear separate from Devastator. Concept art was created for the others, but most of them were only featured in the related toy line.
