King's Highway 81, also known as Highway 81, was a provincially maintained highway in the Canadian province of Ontario. The winding north–south route connected Highway 2 in Delaware with Highway 21 in Grand Bend, passing through Mount Brydges, Strathroy and Parkhill en route.
It continues 25 kilometres (16 mi) east through large patches of farmland, then meets with Middlesex County Road 81 (Victoria Street) at an interchange as it passes north of Strathroy. [ 12 ] [ 19 ] Shortly thereafter it curves to the southeast and zig-zags towards London, bisecting farms and dividing woodlands.
The Official Ontario Road Map indicates that Highway 22 continued south along Highway 4 to Highway 2 (Dundas Street) in downtown London from 1940 until 1972, [32] [33] after which it is shown continuing along Fanshawe Park Road to Highway 126 (Highbury Avenue). [34] [35]

Middlesex County is a primarily rural county and census division in Southwestern Ontario, Canada.Landlocked, the county is bordered by Huron and Perth counties on the north, Oxford County on the east, Elgin County on the south, and Chatham-Kent and Lambton County on the west.
The road was finished in November 1917, 5.5 metres (18 ft) wide and nearly 64 kilometres (40 mi) long, becoming the first concrete road in Ontario. [77] The highway became the favourite drive of many motorists, and it quickly became a tradition for many families to drive it every Sunday. [79]
