The Edison Academy is a career center where 10th-12th graders can take courses based on a career they want to pursue when they finish school. It helps them build the skills they need for a successful career. Edison High School is one of the selected schools in Fairfax County to have an academy center.

San Jacinto College (Spanish: Colegio San Jacinto) is a public community college in the Greater Houston area, with its campuses in Pasadena and Houston, Texas. Established in 1961, San Jacinto College originally consisted of the independent school districts (ISD) of Channelview , Deer Park , Galena Park , La Porte , and Pasadena .
In 1959 when the school opened, [16] the Fairfax County school board opposed racial integration of its schools, and the name, J. E. B. Stuart High School, reflected the school board's sentiments. [17] In 2015 seniors at the school started a drive to rid Fairfax County Public Schools of names honoring the Confederacy and segregation.
