The miniature size of Brachycephalus pulex is notable; one adult specimen had a snout–vent length of 6.45 millimetres (0.254 in). This makes B. pulex the smallest known vertebrate. Mature males exhibit an average length of 7.10 millimetres (0.280 in), while females are consistently slightly larger, with an average length of 8.15 millimetres ...
Breviceps fuscus have a round body with short limbs and toes. Its feet are inward facing which allows the frog to burrow much more effectively. They grow to about 40–51 mm (1.6–2.0 in) in snout–vent length. This species can also live anywhere from 4 to 15 years in age. [7]
Adults range from 22 to 35 mm (0.9–1.4 inches) in body length; females usually attain larger sizes than males and exceed a little over 1.25 inches. Adult males are at an inch or less in length. Ecnomiohyla rabborum was a relatively large frog. The snout-vent length (SVL) of males averaged between 62 and 97 mm (2.4 and 3.8 in), while in females it was between 61 and 100 mm (2.4 and 3.9 in). The head was wider than the body and flattened at the top. The snout was moderately long with nostrils protruding from the sides near the tip.
Most of the specimens of N. degiustoi are postmetamorphic individuals, with the largest individuals reaching body lengths of 15 centimetres (5.9 in), making them among the largest known frogs of the Mesozoic era, and comparable in size to many large modern frogs.
Triadobatrachus is an extinct genus of salientian frog-like amphibians, including only one known species, Triadobatrachus massinoti. It is the oldest member of the frog lineage known, and an excellent example of a transitional fossil. It lived during the Early Triassic about 250 million years ago, in what is now Madagascar.
