The University of Sindh (Urdu: جامعہ سندھ; Sindhi: سنڌ يونيورسٽي; informally known as Sindh University) is a public research university in Pakistan located in the city of Jamshoro in the Sindh province. [1] [2] It is one of the oldest universities in Pakistan and was certified by ISO in 2015. [3]
The university was established by the government of Sindh through the act of parliament on Monday 15 June 2020 through the Government Bill passed by the Sindh Assembly. [2] First it was established as Sindh College of Arts & Design, under the Quaid-e-Awam University of Engineering, Science & Technology. [3]
The University of Larkano was created by the merger of several educational institutions, which now form its faculties: The Larkana campus of the University of Sindh is now the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities. The Larkana campus of the Quaid-e-Awam University of Engineering, Science & Technology is now the Faculty of Engineering.
