Benson's Wild Animal Farm was a private zoo and amusement park in Hudson, New Hampshire, United States. It opened to the public in 1926 and closed in 1987, after having been renamed New England Playworld for its final year. The state of New Hampshire acquired the property in 1989 and transferred it to the town of Hudson in 2009.
The list of mammals of New Hampshire includes all mammal species living in the US state of New Hampshire. Four species of mammals are currently extirpated from the state: gray wolf, [1] cougar, [2] wolverine, [3] and caribou. [4] The list does not include species found only in captivity.
The highest point in Orange is the summit of Mount Cardigan, at 3,155 feet (962 m) above sea level, near the eastern edge of the town. The western side of the town (and the mountain) drains via Orange Brook to the Indian River in the neighboring town of Canaan , in turn a tributary of the Mascoma River .
The Greenville Wildlife Park was a small zoo [1] that operated in Greenville, New Hampshire for five years, from 1998 - 2003. It closed after the death of its co-founder, Glen Eldridge. [2] A Sept. 26, 2003, article in The Telegraph newspaper of Nashua described the closure:
Nelson is located in the eastern part of Cheshire County, in southwestern New Hampshire. Its eastern border is the Hillsborough County line. According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 23.3 square miles (60.3 km 2), of which 21.9 square miles (56.7 km 2) are land and 1.4 square miles (3.5 km 2) are water, comprising 5.88% of the town.
