G70 is the internal designation for the seventh generation of the BMW 7 Series, a range of luxury cars produced by the German luxury vehicle manufacturer BMW since July 2022. [ 1 ] Introduced in April 2022, [ 7 ] 7 Series and i7 are the respective designations for BMW 's internal combustion and battery electric full-size luxury flagship models.

The fourth generation of the BMW 7 Series consists of the BMW E65 and BMW E66 luxury cars. The E65/E66 was produced from 2001 to 2008 and is often collectively referred to as the E65. The E65 replaced the E38 7 Series and was produced with petrol and turbo-diesel straight-six and V8 engines, along with a petrol V12 flagship model.

The i5 saloon was announced in May 2023 with the conventional G60 5 Series, [25] while the i5 Touring was unveiled in February 2024.
