The Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus, also known as the Ringling Bros. Circus, Ringling Bros., the Barnum & Bailey Circus, Barnum & Bailey, or simply Ringling, is an American traveling circus company billed as The Greatest Show on Earth. It and its predecessor have run shows from 1871, with a hiatus from 2017 to 2023.
The circus, more formally known as the Sells Brothers' Quadruple Alliance, Museum, Menagerie, Caravan and Circus, ran from 1862 to 1863 and again from 1871 to 1895. The circus was based out of Columbus, Ohio in an area that was known as Sellsville in Clinton Township along the Olentangy River near King Avenue. [ 1 ]

[9] The property was sold in 1941 and to minimize maintenance they burned the old circus wagons. [12] The winter quarters are now the site of the Circus Hall of Fame. [9]
The Charles Ringling House is a historic house at 201 8th Street in Baraboo, Wisconsin. Charles Ringling, one of the five brothers who founded the Ringling Brothers Circus, had the house built in 1900 for his family. Brothers George and Karl Isenberg of Baraboo built the Georgian Revival house.
