I am a new Ham Radio operator and bought a dual band radio. It came with a USB dongle to install a driver and to use with software to download frequencies into my radio. I plugged the dongle in and it said it had installed and was ready. I am using Chirp software.

I cannot use my uart to USB cable to program two way radios. As it comes up as a device instead of in the com port so I can program the radios. I have no idea why it won’t work. The USB ports work fine. These uart cables come up as cp2102 to uart bridge controller. On other devices.

Windows 11 USB COM port. Running Windows 11 which performed an update yesterday. I'm using USB devices having an FTDI chip. Windows no longer assigns a COM port and says there is no driver. I've re-installed the driver (directly from FTDI) but the problem remains. I've tried several physical ports, cables and devices.
Report abuse. Hi All, I am currently using a Microsoft Surface Pro X on Windows 10. I am struggling to a USB to Serial RS232 to install properly on the computer. I have tried StarTech ICUSB2321F and StarTech ICUSB232C, Moxa Uport 1110 and a FTDIChip US232R-100. None of them seem to work, all the devices have issues with being installed properly.
