Blackrock Clinic has over 300 consultants registered representing over 40 medical specialties. The hospital has been awarded the Joint Commission International (JCI) accreditation. Maurice Neligan (1937 [1] – 8 October 2010) was an Irish heart surgeon, activist, newspaper columnist and media commentator. He was considered one of Ireland's most recognisable doctors – "Ireland's answer to Dr Christian Barnard []" [1] – and performed a number of firsts in Irish medicine. [2]
