Residents are in the Greene County Community School District, [12] which operates Greene County Elementary, Greene County Middle, and Greene County High schools in Jefferson. In the late 1800s Rippey had a high school in the town itself, as well as an area township high school and eleven local grade schools in the surrounding rural area.
The city government determined that it could not find a purpose for the 1913 section; therefore its razing occurred in 2012. The current Greene County district, as of 2014, rented the school gymnasium for athletic meetups. [7] The 44,000-square-foot (4,100 m 2) Jacques Elementary School was built in 1991–1992. [8]
