In 1976, another new dinosaur was described from fossils found in the quarry by Madsen. He named it Marshosaurus bicentesimus, honouring American paleontologist Othniel Charles Marsh (1831-1899). In 1987, Brigham Young University paleontologists excavated a fossil dinosaur egg, at the time the oldest such egg ever found.
The fauna of Morrison Formation is similar to one in the coeval rocks of Tendaguru Beds (in Tanzania) and Lourinhã Formation in Portugal, [1] mostly with the second. Some genera are shared in Morrison and Lourinhã, such as Torvosaurus, [2] Ceratosaurus, [3] Stegosaurus, Dryosaurus, [4] and Allosaurus. [5]
