The Big 12 tournament was first played in 1997 at All Sports Stadium in Oklahoma City, before moving to Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark the following year.The tournament has been played in Oklahoma City each year, save for 2002 and 2004, when the event was played in Arlington, Texas, at the home park of Major League Baseball's Texas Rangers.

The 2025 Texas Longhorns baseball team represents the University of Texas at Austin during the 2025 NCAA Division I baseball season. The Longhorns play their home games at UFCU Disch–Falk Field as a member of the Southeastern Conference. They are led by first year head coach Jim Schlossnagle.
Major League Baseball released its 2025 schedule on July 18, 2024. There are 162 games scheduled for all teams. The scheduling formula was modified this season to increase the number of games between "prime" Interleague rivals from four to six, playing two three-game series instead of two two-game series.
