Ashland County is a county located in the northeastern portion of the U.S. state of Ohio. As of the 2020 census, the population was 52,447. [2] Its county seat and largest city is Ashland. [3] The county is named for "Ashland", the home of Senator Henry Clay near Lexington, Kentucky. [4]
Clear Creek Township was formed out of the north half of Milton Township on 15 October 1818, and was originally six miles square. Upon the formation of Ashland County in 1846, Clear Creek was again divided, four columns of sections on the east being included in Ashland County, the other two columns remaining in Richland.

Ashland is a city in and the county seat of Ashland County, Ohio, United States, [6] about 66 miles (106 km) southwest of Cleveland and 82 miles (132 km) northeast of Columbus. The population was 19,225 at the 2020 census. It is the center of the Ashland Micropolitan statistical area, which includes all of Ashland County.

Green Township began as a part of Richland County in 1806. The name first appears in maps and records in the 1820s following settlement of the township about 1818. [4] It was separated to become a part of Ashland County upon its formation in 1846. It is one of sixteen Green Townships statewide. [5]
