The United States District Court for the Western District of Texas (in case citations, W.D. Tex.) is a federal district court. The court convenes in San Antonio with divisions in Austin, Del Rio, El Paso, Midland, Pecos, and Waco. It has jurisdiction in over 50 Trans-Pecos, Permian Basin, and Hill Country counties of the U.S. state of Texas.
From 2001 to 2007, Judge Brown served as a judge of the 55th Texas State District Court in Harris County, Texas. Judge Jeff Brown was appointed to the trial court by Governor Rick Perry in December 2001, won an opposed election to that bench in November 2002, and won re-election in 2006.

He was formerly a United States magistrate judge of the same court. Albright oversees a significant portion of patent litigation within the United States.
He was nominated by President Ronald Reagan on September 11, 1984, to the United States District Court for the Western District of Texas, to a new seat created by 98 Stat. 333. He was confirmed by the United States Senate on October 3, 1984, and received his commission on October 4, 1984. [ 1 ]
