The district encompasses 223.90 square miles (579.9 km 2) of land in Logan County, [citation needed] and serves Paris, New Blaine, and a section of Subiaco. In 2001 the county opened Jay M. Robinson High School, the first new high school in Cabarrus County in 35 years.
