The Karasuno High volleyball team is referred to as the "Flightless Crows" or "Fallen Champs", due to the team's history as a powerhouse that has fallen from grace. They have a long-standing friendly rivalry with Tokyo-based Nekoma High School. Within its own prefecture, Karasuno's main rivals are Aoba Johsai, Date Tech, and Shiratorizawa Academy.
Nekoma High School is playing a tenacious game against Sarukawa Technical High School. In contrast to the strategy of Itaru Shiramine, who tries to reduce his physical strength and crush the Nekoma's setter Kenma. The second set is at 23-21 in favor of Sarukawa after a mishit from Kai.
Nekoma and Karasuno play the second set to an epic 25-23 showdown, but in the end Karasuno falls just short. However, the two schools reform a rivalry that is better than time could imagine.
