Po' Monkey's was a juke joint in unincorporated Bolivar County, Mississippi, United States, outside of Merigold. [1] The juke joint was founded in the early 1960s and was one of the last rural juke joints in the Mississippi Delta. [2] [3] It ceased operating after the death of operator Willie "Po' Monkey" Seaberry in 2016. [4]

Parks was Merigold's Town Treasurer from 1904 to 1908, and he was also the town's Postmaster from 1905 to 1909. [1] [2] In November 1911, he was elected to represent Bolivar County as a Democrat in the Mississippi House of Representatives, and served in the term from 1912 to 1916. [2]
The city has also held a Mississippi Civil Rights Martyrs Memorial Service each year since 1964 [37] and built a memorial at his gravesite located in Okatibee Cemetery, by Okatibee Baptist Church. In 2014, the Meridian/Lauderdale County Tourism Bureau in cooperation with a committee of local residents, created the Civil Rights Trail .
