Bolton participates in the North Central Connecticut Conference (NCCC) for athletics, and competes as a Class "S" school. Bolton High School accepted students from nearby Willington, Connecticut, until that community regionalized in the early 1990s. Academic year 1991-1992 was the last year that Willington students graduated from Bolton High.

Bolton (/ ˈ b oʊ l t ə n / BOHL-tən) is a small rural town in Tolland County, Connecticut, United States. The population was 4,858 as of the 2020 census . [ 2 ] Bolton was incorporated in October 1720 and is governed by town meeting , with a first selectman and board of selectman as well as other boards serving specific functions.
The district includes a variety of houses from the 18th century onward, including the house of the first town minister (c. 1741, 752 Main Street). Institutional buildings in the district include the 1853 Town House, four historic school buildings (including an 1825 one room schoolhouse), and the 1928 Colonial Revival Federated Church of Bolton.
The district extends east about 500 yards (460 m) from the green along Bolton Center Road. The oldest existing buildings around the Green are the former tavern and the Bolton General Store. The most prominent building around the Green is the Bolton Congregational Church, a Greek Revival structure built in 1818 with a truncated box-spire.
