The 2023 UCI Track Cycling World Championships were held from 3 to 9 August 2023, at the Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome in Glasgow, United Kingdom. [1] It was the 120th edition of the UCI Track Cycling World Championships, and was being held as part of the inaugural UCI Cycling World Championships.

The championships have evolved over the years to include more events for men and women. A scratch race was introduced in 2002, as well as a women's keirin. The men's madison had been held for over a century before a women's madison was first introduced in 2009.

Franco Marvulli of Switzerland and Alex Rasmussen of Denmark have both won the men's scratch event twice, while Wim Stroetinga of the Netherlands has the most medals with three between 2007 and 2012. In the women's scratch race, Yoanka González of Cuba is the most decorated rider, with five gold or silver medals won between 2004 and 2010.
