On 2 July, Wednesday confirmed their away strip for the 2024–25 season. [5]On 11 July, Pierce Charles was called up to the Northern Ireland U19 squad for the 2024 UEFA European Under-19 Championship.
On 1 March 2024, Otegbayo signed his first professional contract with Sheffield Wednesday following a successful trial period. [5] [6] [7] He signed a new contract at Wednesday at the end of that season. [8] He made his professional debut, coming off the bench in the EFL Cup on 14 August 2024 against Hull City, helping the side win 2–1.
He began playing football with Wincobank Juniors, before moving to the academy of Sheffield Wednesday at 13 and worked his way up their youth categories. [3] He was promoted to their U21s on 14 July 2021 on a scholarship deal, [ 4 ] and in the summer of 2023 he joined the senior team for preseason. [ 5 ]
Charles was in the youth set-up at Manchester City prior to joining up with Sheffield Wednesday in 2021. Fusire joined Sheffield Wednesday at the age of 9 and was a regular for the clubs U18 and U21 side. [3] He plays centrally or outside in midfield as well as playing right wing back. [4] He signed his first pro contract on 9 December 2022. [5] He made his senior debut against Fleetwood Town in an FA Cup replay on 7 February 2023. [6]
