Malvern is a city in Mills County, Iowa, United States. The population was 1,046 at the time of the 2020 census. [2] The Wabash Trace—a railroad converted to a bicycle trail—passes through Malvern. The Mills County Fair is held here, although Glenwood is the county seat. Malvern is the largest town in the eastern half of the county.

East Mills Schools officially formed on July 1, 2011, from the merger of the Malvern Community School District and the Nishna Valley Community School District. [4] Voters in both districts approved the consolidation on a 6 to 1 basis in 2010; 19.2% of the registered voters in the districts, a total of 483 people, participated in that election. [5]
Pacific Junction was established by the railroad in 1871 [3] to serve as the western terminus of the Burlington and Missouri River Railroad, the eastern terminus of the Nebraska Burlington & Missouri River RR, and a station on the Kansas City, Council Bluffs, & Saint Joseph Railroad.
