Against Me! is an American punk rock band, formed in 1997 in Naples, Florida, [1] by singer and guitarist Laura Jane Grace. That same year, Grace moved to Gainesville, Florida , [ 1 ] which is considered the band's hometown.
The Against Me! song "Stop!" was part of the Rock the Vote campaign to encourage voting in the 2008 US presidential election. [63] At a May 2016 Against Me! show in Durham, North Carolina, Grace set her birth certificate on fire in protest of the North Carolina bathroom bill.
