Bongani Michael Baloyi (born 28 February 1987) is a South African politician. In 2013, he was elected Executive Mayor of the Midvaal Local Municipality.He was only 26 years old at the time, and he consequently became the youngest mayor in South Africa.
After then Midvaal mayor Bongani Baloyi announced he would be stepping down at the next election, in September 2021 Teixeira was selected to replace him as the DA's candidate in the November municipal elections. [3] Teixeira won with an increased majority. [4] He was elected mayor on 15 November 2021. [5]
