I found Batteries Plus has 8 volt Duracell batteries for $129.99 when you order online and pick up in store, plus an extra 10% off with the coupon code. From what I've found so far they are made by East Penn/ Deka batteries. I know Trojan batteries are supposed to be the best but at $150 each that's an extra $180 for 6 batteries.

Opinions on Interstate GC8 batteries. Working on putting together my 96 DS 48V (6 x 8V). I will be running the DS IQ Level 4 upgrade from Revolution Golf Cars and charging duties will be handled by the Lester Summit II charger on board. I plan to do either a 4" or 6" lift and probably 22" tires (not certain yet). Cart will be a campground cruiser.

    1) battery connections. 2) add nothing but "distilled water" not purified or filtered water. 3) And use a highly regulated battery charger. 4) clean the tops of your batteries with a mixture of baking soda & distilled water, flush with distilled water. Batteries are not batteries- its whats on the inside that counts.

Posts: 9. Trojan vs. Duracell. Around here, these are the two brands I can find. For six batteries, the Duracell is sold at Sam's Club for about $780, while the Trojan from a golf cart place is $1206. So, the Trojans are almost 50% more expensive. I'm one to pay more for better, but up to a point.

The Duracell batteries are probably for automotive duty, you start once, the charge for the trip. Golf cart batteries are constantly subjected to the start duty, especially if you golf. As I recall typical golf cart batteries are designed for deep discharge which automotive are not. NOW if the Sam's Club batteries are rated for golf cart ...

Crown Vs. US Batteries. The bias is real especially regarding Trojan. They think they are the Apple of batteries. The only crap batteries i know of are Duracell, Exide/Rural King, and Econo Power, or Duralast (gas cars). You might get one to three years out of those vs. 6 to 8 years from a Crown, Trojan or US Battery.
