The main objective of this naval base is to coordinate disaster response services alongside running their naval information technology programme and naval intelligence training and operating helicopters of the force. Navy helicopters are stationed and maintained as well in this floated base.

BNS Haji Mohsin [1] [2] [3] is a naval base of the Bangladesh Navy. [4] [5] It was established after the Bangladesh Liberation War of 1971, and named in honour of Haji Muhammad Mohsin. The base is the principal logistics base of the Bangladesh Navy, and is located in the Dhaka Cantonment. [6]
Khilkhet Thana has a total area of 15.88 square kilometres (6.13 sq mi). [6] It is bounded on the east by the Turag River (across which lies Rupganj Upazila of Narayanganj District ). It borders Dhakshinkhan and Uttar Khan thanas to the north, Badda Thana to the south, Cantonment Thana to the west, and Bimanbandar Thana to the northwest. [ 5 ]
