Hank Berger (1952 – October 31, 2006) [1] was an American nightclub owner and merchandiser. After a stint in the Navy, Berger enrolled in the Cooper School of Art. [2] Later, Berger helmed a series of successful Cleveland nightclubs, including the pioneering gay disco "Traxx" and "Phantasy Nightclub". He became known as "Dr. Disco".
The band became a national touring act on the verge of mainstream stardom by early 1994, so they only played at the club four times after 1993. Trax was featured briefly in the 1991 movie True Colors. [2] Trax originally was an industrial building adjacent to the CSX train tracks (thus the name).
The name Live Trax is a reference to the former Trax Nightclub in Charlottesville, Virginia, where the band played over 120 shows during their early years from 1991-1996. Only the sixth volume of the series was sold outside of the band's website, due to a high demand in the Boston , Massachusetts area.
