It’s not the acceptance rate. 10 years ago the acceptance rate was about 20% and in recent years it’s been rumored as 8-10%, not sure how accurate that is. However out of 9,000 1st year students, only 300 are in Schreyer. At UP, about 43% students are OOS. just a quick note to say good luck to all awaiting decisions.

Penn state is not true rolling. If you have applied by their EA deadline (Nov. 1), you will hear by Dec. 24th. In the past, decisions started rolling out mid-November. For some. No rhyme or reason other than - anecdotally, high stats kids heard first. Not ALL high stats kids heard early, but that was a common thread.

If not for my act being so low back when applications were opened for early action, I would’ve applied for my state’s state school. I applied to big schools that don’t require test scores, such as Penn State. Unfortunately, I didn’t receive a decent act score till recently, so early action applications are long gone.
