The Cyclones started the season 11–2 in non-conference play. They finished the 2023–24 season 29–8, 13–5 in Big 12 play to finish in second place. As the No. 2 seed in the Big 12 tournament, they defeated the No. 10 seed Kansas State, No. 3 seed Baylor and No. 1 seed Houston to win their sixth Big 12 tournament title and receive the conferences automatic bid into the NCAA tournament.
Maury John coached the first five games of the season, going 4–1. Gus Guydon coached the remainder, going 11–10. ^B. ISU finished the season 7–20, but was later awarded a win vacated by Oklahoma State. ^C. Lynn Nance coached the first 18 games of the season, going 8–10 and 2–3 in conference.
