Pace University is a private university with campuses in New York City and Westchester County, New York, United States.It was established in 1906 as a business school by the brothers Homer St. Clair Pace and Charles A. Following Homer Pace's death in 1942, his son Robert Pace became the Institute's second president. Mortola spent the remainder of his career at Pace, becoming dean in 1949, one year after Pace was awarded college status by the New York State Board of Regents. He was promoted to provost in 1950 and to vice president in 1954.
