I just did this. Worked out beautifully. Went on Avery site and clicked on create Word template for my label template #8160. Opened it in Libre written document, filled in my labels and saved. Then printed to the labels. Perfect. Thanks for the question and answer!
You can also design your own template using the options under File → New → Labels in Writer. If you know the size of the labels you want (you can get a ruler and measure everything, including the gaps between labels), you can enter all the numbers into the dialog, and click New Document to get a template. The problem is to find a (built-in) template which is able to synchronize. If you don’t find that it is easy to create one with the above mentioned given size values… Probably you have to convert the measures into cm. When I print from Microsoft Word, my Avery 8160 (inkjet, address labels) labels come out perfectly. When I switched to LibreOffice, they are completely off. I tried changing the top margin to match the allignment, but in order to get it just right, I have to set the top margin to 0.00". When I do that, the top lines of the labels are cut off and won’t print. The rest of the page is alligned ...
w_whalley has it - 5160 really should be showing for you. However, if the label wizard does not seem to be working for your label, you can still try downloading the 5160 template from Avery for Microsoft Word and import it into Writer.
For my HP Photosmart 8150 I had to change the Avery Letter Size 5160 (same as 8160) label format to have a top margin of 0.6" and a left margin of 0.5". AlexKemp closed November 16, 2015, 5:43pm
