Eupora was established in 1889 by European Americans on a spur track of the Georgia Pacific Railway. While there had been agricultural development prior to this in the county, the railroad stimulated trade and businesses. Today this is the largest city in the county. Near here was a site in 1770 of armed conflict among some Native American tribes.
Kuhn Memorial State Hospital. Vicksburg. Warren. 84. 1847. 1989. Founded in 1847 as the Vicksburg City Hospital. Came under control of the University of Mississippi in 1908 and name changed to Mississippi State Charity Hospital. Renamed Kuhn Memorial in 1954.

Aaron Shirley (January 3, 1933 – November 26, 2014) was an American physician and civil rights activist. [1] Shirley was born in Gluckstadt, Mississippi. [2] He was Chairman of the Board for the Jackson Medical Mall Foundation, [3] [4] [5] and an associate professor in pediatrics at the University of Mississippi Medical Center. [6]
