John A. Logan College (JALC) is an open admission, comprehensive community college designed to provide high-quality, affordable educational opportunities to its citizens. The College owes its existence to the Illinois Public Community College Act of July 15, 1965 which provided legislation to create a junior college system in the state of Illinois.
Accredited by the Higher Learning Commission since 1972, John A. Logan College now offers a wide variety of programs, including foundation courses for the bachelor’s degree, technical and vocational curricula, adult education classes and public service activities.
