William Kendrick Sexton was born in 1835 in Sherburne, New York. His father moved to Michigan in 1837. His father moved to Michigan in 1837. Sexton was educated in Michigan, then attended the Commercial College in Chicago in 1858 and went to work for the Cairo and Fulton Railroad Company.

The first settlers in this part of Livingston County arrived in the early 1830s. Many of these early settlers were Catholic, and in 1843 the Rev. Patrick O'Kelly established the Saints Peter and Paul parish, which is now St. Augustine Church.
In January 2017, a private Cessna Citation jet overshot the runway in Livingston, crashing through an airport fence and came to rest on a nearby road. [10] On August 20, 2019, an Aero Commander crashed while attempting to land at Hardy Airport. The two on board were killed.

Howell is the largest city in and county seat of Livingston County, Michigan, United States. [4] As of the 2020 census , the city had a population of 10,068. The city is mostly surrounded by Howell Township , but the two are administered autonomously.
The Howell Downtown Historic District is located in the central business district of the city, and incorporates parts of nine city blocks as well as the courthouse square. The district encompasses about fourteen acres, and includes sixty building, of which forty-six contribute to the historic significance of the district.
As of the census [1] of 2000, there were 3,999 people, 1,325 households, and 1,004 families residing in the township. The population density was 111.7 inhabitants per square mile (43.1/km 2).
