Perkins now had manufacturing facilities in the United Kingdom, United States, Brazil, China, India, and a joint venture with Ishikawajima-Shibaura-Machinery company in Japan.

The Perkins 6.247 is a diesel engine designed by Perkins Engines in the mid-1970s, intended for light duty commercial vehicles with lower NVH than contemporary offerings. [1] It is a six-cylinder variant of the Perkins 4.165. It was built under licence by Mazda as the ZB.
Perkins would go on building new engines and building the company until 1959, when at the age of seventy he sold a majority stake to his largest customer, Massey Ferguson.
